Mustard Yellow & Denim

Ahhh Monday, everyone's favorite day of the week, right?  Haha, not really...  But ours wasn't so bad!  Spent the morning with the Baby and a cup of coffee followed by shopping at two of my favorite stores, Home Good's & Target!  Cooked on our new Traeger grill for dinner (third night in a row grilling now, we're obsessed!) then, made a tasty juice for pre-dessert.  Gotta feel a little healthy before ice cream, right?  It's still too warm for full on fall outfits but denim shorts and a mustard colored blouse help add to the fall feeling, even if the weather is still in the 90's...  Happy Monday all!!

Nap time = shopping time!

Scored some great deals at Target last week, so many clothes are on sale right now!  Thanks to baby falling asleep in the stroller while walking around, I shopped for waaaay too long..  Didn't want to risk waking her!  But, I found a fabulous long black vest, a super cute striped skirt, and the comfy cardigan pictured below!  (Also, a chalkboard table runner.  I'm obsessed.)  And have you seen the new Altuzarra line?!  *swoon*

Fall decor

Ohh how I love the cold crisp air, hot coffee & scarf weather.  *walks outside* "wait, why do I feel like I'm melting and choking on humidity?"  Probably because it's a nice, cool 84 degrees here in Houston!   When will it start to actually feel like fall?! Probably not anytime soon... Oh well, even if it doesn't feel like fall outside, that won't keep me from trying to make it feel like fall inside!  Happy fall, all!!

Sunny and 65

I'm pretty sure that if weather had a personality it would be a) flippant; b) indecisive; and c) dramatic.  We're back to those summer/fall/winter/summer/fall in one week days again.  In a way, for me to call the weather indecisive is like the kettle-calling-the-pot-black type of a thing. With classes during the week, I'm often torn between the "cute or comfy" question -- and I definitely appreciate an outfit that I think encompasses both of those.

Meanwhile in Colorado

Although the weather may be summer-esque in Houston, it's currently about 39ยบ here in CO.  While the cold, wintry feeling should be disappearing temporarily by tomorrow, I'm having all the fun I can with long sleeves, boots, and scarves.  And now that football is back and fall is just around the corner (can I get a "finally"?!), what better way to show your pride for your team than with a little style?*

*disclaimer: I am NOT an Aggie.  But when your brother-in-law and boyfriend are, avoiding the appearance of supporting A&M becomes difficult.

Fashion Friday

It's a rainy day here in Houston, which means a comfy clothes day inside while working on house projects!  Happy Friday all!

Fall fashion, Texas weather

It may be fall time, but here in Houston, TX. it sure doesn't feel like it!  I can't wait for the weather to get cooler so I can break out the tights, boots and scarves.  Until then, it's dresses and sandles all the way!

Tasty Tuesday

We love a good cup of coffee, and we're suckers for adorable coffee shops.  The latte's, plain black coffee, cappuccino's, we love em all!  So when a friend (check out her adorable blog!) posted an article on Facebook about different ways to drink coffee, there was one that stood out to us.  Introducing DIY foam for your coffee!  And the best part? It only takes about 1min to make!  All you need is a jar, (a mason jar works great!) milk, and of course, coffee!  The foam doesn't taste as sweet as it does when getting it from a coffee shop, but as long as you add some sugar to your coffee before spooning the foam in, it turns out pretty tasty.  Enjoy and happy coffee drinking!
